Halloween

This time of year causes a major rift in both Jews and Christians alike, for many hold that Halloween is a harmless holiday of getting dressed up and going in search of candy, while others view it as an occultic holiday. Now we have heard from many different sources the origins of Halloween, but I wish to take a slightly different look at the celebration, one you might never have looked at before.

Now the very first place I wish to begin at is with words. Words are powerful. They can do a lot of damage in the physical, but in the spiritual, they are weapons and can set in place horrific events that are not even thought about. Paul warns us about speaking those things that are not as though they were. The reason that this is true, is because we set things in motion in the spiritual, whether for good or for bad, when we speak. When a person is negative and his out of his mouth comes the abundance of the heart, and those things are negative, negative things will happen to this person. A person who is positive and giving thanks to YHVH for everything, will find that they are blessed beyond measure. Yeshua told us to cast out demons, and His example to us was by speaking that they leave, and they did. On the other have, as the 7 sons of Skeva found out, when speaking things that one can not control, they can destroy you.

The children go from house to house and say the magikal phrase, "Trick or treat!" Ever wonder what that means? It meant, back when it was originally used, that spirits would either leave you alone if you give them what they wanted, or they would haunt you and destroy you if they did not get what they wanted from you. The children are going around, and saying in essence, "Blessing or cursing!" If you give them candy, then they bless you and leave you alone. If you do not give them candy, then they go off mumbling all sorts of bad things about you. They are speaking curses at you because you did not give them what they want.

Now look at our families today. Children are allowed to get anything they want, because parents find that "all hell breaks loose" when the children do not get everything they wanted. If the children do not get what they want, they go around, and instead of being respectful, loving and obedient, they spew curses out at the fathers and mothers. Where did they learn they could get whatever they wanted or they could curse you for not giving that to them? What age do children begin "Trick or treating" at?

Next thing that these children and adults do is they get to emulate their heroes. Now we are told to imitate Yeshua, and be as holy as YHVH. We are given many examples of righteous people to act like in the scriptures. But what do you see being emulated? Witches and warlocks, ghosts and demons, HaSatan and sex toys. These are not given as examples for us to use to live our life off of. When we go after these things, we begin to literally en wrap ourselves in them. Now all of a sudden, witches and warlocks seem to be fun. Enter in Harry Potter. Ghosts and demons are now "friendly" . Enter is Casper. HaSatan seems harmless. Sex is glorified and is on everyone’s mind. What has happened? Our focus and our heroes have left scriptures and turned to the demonic spiritual world, that will give you the power to use words at your command to curse those who do not give you what you want.

When the children are young, the seeds of chaos are planted. When they get older, they are introduced to the world of the occult, and oftentimes seek it out. Jews and Believers are too strict and their Elohm does not give these children what they want, so they see after one that will, and once again, return to paths that they are familiar with, and curse the One Who does not supply what they want. A lack of respect for their earthly parents has now turned into a lack of respect for their Heavenly Father. Young adults and even older adults rush in headfirst to follow someone that will give them what they want, and refuse to read the fine print. Since infancy, sex has been glorified as have demons and witches, and even HaSatan has been made harmless and friendly. They learn, "Do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the law," and compare it to YHVH’s Torah, and see that they can do whatever they want in the satanic way. They see that there is revenge and ways to make people pay, even more crueler than they had known previously, and ways to send demons off to bring back rejecting lovers. They are told that they are elohim, and so they do not wish to ever leave that. Someone who has been brought us to all have what they wanted whenever they wanted will view YHVH with contempt and look at Him as someone who is a party pooper. So they glorify Halloween even more, because it is a time they can transform to anything they want to, and the world accepts it. Furthermore, the world invites them into their houses.

Words, taught to an infant, reinforced every year, sends many to their doom. This night has an extremely high death rate on it. I wonder to how many people did YHVH say, "You fool! This night your soul will be required of you." To how many will He say that to this coming night? Will it be someone you know and love? Will it be some of you? Selah!

Glamorizing Satan is hardly the hallmark of a Christian. To be true, neither is the attending of masquerade parties (occult), revellings, lewdness, drunkenness, emulations of evil (Hollywood), and the various things that chiefly concern themselves with the sensual titillation of the flesh. To teach ones' own children to do such deeds, whether in ignorance (I wouldn't call it innocence) is to serve Satan. There are no examples in scripture of any of the saints participating in these events (that also existed in their day) and I highly doubt that the Churches of GOD have any such custom. The bottom line to Halloween is this: GLORY TO THE FLESH. Anything that glorifies the flesh and does not glorify GOD does not come from above.


What we might think cute and appealing is not always so innocent or even holy, for that matter. Friend, this one of Satan's oldest tricks in the book and this is the same trick that Eve fell for from the beginning: LUST OF THE EYES, LUST OF THE FLESH, and the PRIDE OF LIFE. (Hence the cute costumes.) Just because the object of one's eye might titillate them and warm the cockles of their heart to sigh and say "aaaw" and make them feel all warm and mushy inside doesn't make it Godly. In fact, the adversary has had an active agenda to corrupt natural affection from the beginning. There are three basic avenues whereby sin enters into the world: Lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and pride of life. I call it the devil's trident. The flesh lusts for eye candy, the flesh lusts for the belly-fodder (unhealthy food), and the flesh lusts after pride of life (the recognition and approval of the world) :

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. (Genesis 3:6)

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. (1 John 2:16)


What the little princess, or ballerina, or "devil" desires (aside from the candy) in his or her little "cute" costume is to have his or her little ego fed (pride of life) and this is encouraged (especially where it does not exist) by mom and dad (mostly mom) to acquire the glory and honour of the flesh. It is conditioning that is not so far from the ideologies of Hollywood and such recognitions are sure to take these little hearts away from JESUS and lead them in another direction. Now JESUS verily came to give us life more abundantly whereas Hollywood suggests that little "Johnny" should be a vampire.

There is NOTHING Godly about Hollywood. Hollywood is so wicked that there isn't even enough room in this page to describe all the ways in which it destroys human souls and keeps them from holiness unto GOD; for to say that there is no association with the terms "Holy"-Wood and the ancient "Holy"-Even (evening) is simply voluntary ignorance. Now there is absolutely nothing "holy" about these things; as they are but the EMMULATIONS of the ANTI (IN PLACE OF) CHRIST. Holly isn't holy (but "holly" is the root from which the Anglo word "holy" was first derived because holly was the "holy" and "hallowed" herb of the human sacrificing druids - as was mistletoe) and it is also a fact that Christmas isn't Christian either. So much for the strongholds of the voluntary ignorance of Paganism. No matter how much anyone wants to "dress it up", paint it up, puff it up, and glamorize it, both Hallowe'en and Xmas (properly called) is of the devil and it is Pagan. Jesus Christ will never participate in the celebration of these ungodly events. Verily, verily, the saints of GOD never participated in any of these customs. Read your Bible and read your history. These are vain customs.

Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. (Jeremiah 10:1- 4)


Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21)



Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. (1 Peter 4:1-5)
