RENDER UNTO GOD THE THINGS THAT ARE GOD'S

The noise of the everyday world we live in is loud and growing louder by the day. You hear the noise of traffic, music, construction, and many other things constantly. The level of stress that many people at is high because of all the noise and the hectic nature of the modern world. Things are fast paced and there never seems enough time in a day to accomplish what you need to accomplish.

So when trying to deal with the real world, and make a living, support your family, and do what you need to do to survives, for many people, this pushes יהוה way down the list on their own priorities. When we run out of time, it is usually the time that we would spend with Him. Sure, we may pick up a Bible and read a few verses til we fall asleep, not really comprehending what we are reading, or we may pick up a religious book and read a little. We may say a real short prayer before falling asleep, but we never spend quality time with Him.

You see, while this world is loud and noisy, stressful and hectic, יהוה speaks in quiet hushed terms and does not desire to be rushed when He wants to spend time with us. His quite sounding voice is so easily drowned out by the noise of this world, that many times people never hear Him because they have their ear drums bursting from all the noise. They are so use to bumping and shoving to get where they need to be and do what they need to do, that when the gentle touch of the Master’s hand is on your shoulder or He gently places His arm around your neck, we do not even notice it because the touch is way to soft.

When we have days off from work, there is so much other stuff to do because it has piled up during the days that we are off working. And then there is the time when services are set for, that it is so easy just to sleep in that day, or to take in some relaxing time on the lake or watching a game, that it becomes a hassle and a routine just to go to services. We watch our watches making sure the pastor or preacher does not go too long in their sermon all because the game or race is coming on and you do not wish to miss the start of it.

For many, they do not go because they have to get dressed up and go so they feel uncomfortable and not like themselves. So instead of spending quality time with Him, they find quality sleep time, or times with friends, or time watching a game or race, or time fishing or hunting. When we need to step away from the hustle and bustle of this face paced noisy world, we seek to do it in other avenues than with יהוה. Sure, we can throw His name in at whatever we are doing because there is an evocation that mentions Him, or we put up signs and do tournaments ro rides where we use His name all to justify why we are doing what we want to do and still claim to be Christian. They use the world’s things and wrap an outer layer of יהוה all to make it appear Scriptural. They do not want to give up the world, so they act like the world, listen to the world’s music, watch the world’s movies and television, and just throw in יהוה to make it sound Scriptural.

But when we are so attached to this world, and to the things of this world, the noise and the hecticness of this world drown out יהוה altogether. You can not hear His soft voice, or feel His touch, and you definitely can not feel Him inside of you. Instead of seeking first His Kingdom and His righteousness, we see first how to live and assimilate into the world, and culture, and society that we live in. We want friends and definitely desire family, and so we do our best to make these in this world. The problem is, that what this world sees as acceptable, and the voices this world hears is not of יהוה. And since we are allowing other things to drown Him out and push Him away from us, then we are not in touch with what He wants and He desires.

The basis for everything that we do is to be Him. “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Master Yeshua, giving thanks to יהוה the Father by Him.” (Colossians 3:17) Even when we speak, it is to be the utterances of יהוה. (1 Peter 4:11)

Everyday is a day that we are to spend quality time talking with Him, studying His Word, and listening to Him. Anything that prevents you from doing that is a god. You slave everyday at your job just trying to please your boss and make money to support yourself and your family. Do you not know that every bit of money is a blessing from יהוה, and everything is His anyway? While you toil everyday trying to please others, you are not able to please יהוה - the only One that matters - because you are too busy worrying about what others think, and how they feel, and how you are going to buy groceries, pay bills, and afford to live a comfortable lifestyle.

“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve יהוה and mammon. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if יהוה so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of יהוה, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” (Matthew 6:24-34)

The problem is that we, as humans, are so programed to how this world operates and the comforts that goes with it. If the soft voice of יהוה tells you to give up the things that are in this world and to follow Him, most people would say that it was not the voice of יהוה. But יהוה, through His Word, has already told us these things.

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of יהוה abideth for ever.” (1 John 2:15-17) “Pure religion and undefiled before יהוה and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” (James 1:27) “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with יהוה? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of יהוה.” )James 4:3( “For the Favour of יהוה that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying wickedness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and reverently, in the present age; looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great Elohim and our Saviour Yeshua the Messiah; who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” (Titus 2:11-14)

We are to come out of this world and be separate, not imitating this world. “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith יהוה, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be My sons and daughters, saith יהוה the Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:17-18) “Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” (Revelation 18:4)

Scripture is very clear, that we are to be in the world, but not of the world. If we are of the world, we are not of יהוה. If our goal is to please those of this world and to make friends and be good worldly citizens, then we will already have had our reward. But if our goal is to please יהוה, then we will turn our backs on this world and live according to His eternal Kingdom. We will seek not our own good, but the good of the family. And our family will be those that are members of the Messiah’s body.

In the book of Acts, it tells us exactly how the disciples lived back then. “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. . .And all that believed were together, and had all things common; and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart”. (Acts 2:42, 44-46) They lived in one community, breaking bread together, ministering one to another, cheerfully sacrificing what each had so as to share with another that is in need, daily praying, studying, and fellowshiping. By their actions, the way they lived their lives, and they way they put יהוה first, everyone knew of Him.

יהוה has called myself and others to begin preparing for a community such as this, where we daily cheerfully do as the disciples did as quoted there in Acts chapter 2. Where we will be in this world, but not of this world. Where the only standard that will matter is Scripture, and it will be what we lift up high for all to see. To the best of our ability, this community will be self sufficient, and be as free of the world as it can be. We know that there will be times when we shall minister to those not of the family, but by following יהוה, we know also that the world is already rejecting those that are following Him, and so we shall teach when He gives us the opportunity, but we will not embrace the world.

There are those that יהוה has appointed to help us with this. Some of you may know this because you have listened to Him, but others will hear when they start letting the things of this earth grow strangely dim. Some of these mentioned as well as others are those that are being called by יהוה to come and leave this world. He has given us tasks as well as prepared us for this so that we can live daily for Him and not for the cares of this world. For those יהוה has called, in one way or the other, all we can say is come, put your hands on the plough, and work side by side with us, so that together, we may all follow Him.
